3000 Employment Services

3000.1 Purpose - The Employment Services team provides family centered, client driven services with the following goals:

• Provide the opportunity for clients  to expand their skills and knowledge to maximize income potential,
  
  
• Encourage the formation of stable families by empowering parents through self-sufficiency,
  
  
• End client dependency on government support  by promoting job preparation and work and
  
  

• Provide support services that enhance the client’s ability to obtain and maintain employment.
   
  

Employment Services will accomplish these goals by:

• Helping current and former Employment Services clients retain their jobs
   

• Supporting current and former clients in reducing the amount of time spent between jobs
   

• Helping current and former clients advance in their jobs by providing access to training and education opportunities needed for career advancement
   

• Assisting current and former clients in accessing benefits for which they are eligible, including food assistance, medical coverage, utility assistance, and child care assistance.

People are the experts on their lives and have voices, choices, needs, strengths, and life stories.

We believe in taking a holistic approach by addressing the needs of and setting goals with the full family.

We believe in coordinating equitable access to the systems and structures that are necessary for families to thrive economically and socially.

The career navigator and the client will work in collaboration to identify and achieve the agreed upon outcomes.
