VLP Completing Non-Citizenship Detail
The Verify Lawful Presence (VLP) Interface performs immigration verification for individuals who:
Attest to naturalized or derived citizenship, but whose citizenship the Social Security Administration cannot verify
Attest to having eligible immigration status
The following explains the interaction of the VLP Interface and the Non-Citizenship page. The VLP Real Time Interface is called from the Verification List page when the Request Verification button is selected in combination with the INS Document Verification check box by itself or in combination with other verifications.
When the VLP Interface is called, information from the Non-Citizenship page is sent to the VLP service through the Federal Hub.
The information sent on the VLP Interface is pulled from the below Data Collection pages and fields. Click below to display contents.
The VLP Interface call will only be submitted if the USCIS Document Type is one of the following:

| Other Immigration Document (Must contain I-94 or Alien/USCIS Number) | ---- |
For all other USCIS Document Types, attempting to submit a Hub verification request will result in a source status of Hub Request Not Sent; this indicates that the VLP Interface was not called.
Listed below are the fields that must be completed in order to SAVE a record on the Non-Citizenship page:
Name- Selected from the drop-down menu.
Verified- Should initially be set to Pending
Begin Date- Set to the 1st day of the 1st prior Medical Month or the 1st day of the Application month
NOTE: Additional fields may be mandatory depending on USCIS Document selected.
