9222 Receiving County's Responsibilities - Once the new county is notified of the move (client, task, etc.) the new county assumes the following responsibilities (in addition to 9220). Any resulting adjustments in eligibility because of changes occurring as a result of the move are to be made no later than two months following the month of transfer following the reporting rules of 9121 or 9122 as appropriate. Any required reviews, applications, interim report or 12 month report forms are also the responsibility of the receiving county to process.

  1. For food assistance programs, review the file and make any necessary adjustments in eligibility (including household composition, shelter and other expenses, and income) in accordance with 9121 or 9122 as appropriate. Issue supplemental benefits if necessary.

  2. For TANF programs, review the file and adjust the shelter group by updating the county associated to the physical address if necessary. Also, make any other necessary adjustments in eligibility (including household composition and income) in accordance with 9121 or 9122 as appropriate. Issue supplemental benefits if necessary.

  3. For Work programs, open the Assessment activity one month and send appointment notice to meet with individual(s) and engage them in appropriate work components. The need for support services should be addressed in this meeting. If the individual(s) moved to accept employment, the Employment activity should be open and transportation may be in place during the month of the move. The caseworker should request documentation of employment to determine benefits and adjust support services as needed.

If the transferred case is a food assistance only case coming from one of the counties which offer the FAE&T program, EES workers should check the system to make sure the program block status has been closed.

  4. For child care programs, update the child care plan if necessary and send appropriate notices.

9230 Closed Cases - If the case is in closed status, the current office should contact the office where the closed case is located.

The application may be used to transfer a closed case to a new office when the client reapplies prior to the effective date of closure but subsequent to the closure notice being issued and when reapplication occurs within the month following the month of closure. If the client reapplies after the month following the month of closure, an application shall be required.
