7660 Suspending Benefits - If it is known at the time the child care plan is written that child care is not needed for any months in the eligibility period, or if after eligibility is established a client reports that they will not need care for any of the months in the eligibility period, but they do not want their plan closed, benefits may be suspended by entering zero hours on the child care plan for months care is not needed. Benefits may be suspended as long as the family remains financially eligible, is eligible under a child care subtype, and responds to their redetermination responsibilities. Examples of a need for suspension include but are not limited to: parent's maternity or other temporary leave, child's illness, temporary unemployment, a summer or holiday visit to the absent parent or other relative, or school age children requiring child care when the family share exceeds the cost of care during the school year.
