OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
A brief overview of the major changes is described below. Other clarifications and technical corrections are also included and described in the next section. Additional technical corrections not mentioned here are being incorporated into KEESM, as needed.
DESCRIPTION, PURPOSE, AND DETAILS OF POLICY CHANGE
- Food Assistance
- Changes
- Mandatory Verification That Affects the Amount of Program Benefits – The list of information requiring verification to be allowed as a deduction in KEESM 1322.2 has been updated to include utility expenses.
- Interim Report and 12-Month Report Form – KEESM 9122.6(1)(b)(iii), 9122.6(1)(c)(vii), and 9122.6(2)(d)(v) were updated to reflect that the utility expense obligation must be verified.
- Verification at the Time a Change is Reported – KEESM 9121.2 has been updated to reflect that the utility expense obligation must be verified.
- Processing Changes Not Required to be Reported or Reported for Cash or Child Care – Unclear information policy was added to KEESM 9122.7.
- Information/Verification – Language was added to KEESM 9333 to reflect that non-citizen status must be reverified by running SAVE at interim report, 12-month report, and review.
- Clarifications
- Utilities – Language was added to KEESM 7226.3 (2) to clarify that verification of LIEAP payments received from out of state must be obtained to allow SUA based on receipt of LIEAP.
