The KEES Help Desk has received reports of the New indicator remaining on the Medicare tab after data acceptance has been completed. It has been determined that the consumers are reporting new Medicare information; however, it is not creating a record in KEES. If you come across this issue, please add the record from the PDF version of the application/review to KEES. KEES Help Desk tickets are not needed.
When leaving LTC, the income allocation to the Community Spouse is not ending. EDBC is continuing to count the allocation erroneously which adds a duplication of income resulting in a higher spenddown cost share. NOTE: KEES is not stopping the income allocation even when the allocation section on the LTC record is end-dated, meaning even if the LTC member doesn’t leave LTC, there is a duplication of income. If you encounter this issue, please submit a KEES Help Desk ticket. The KEES Help Desk will provide next steps.
We are aware of KEES not giving new PW coverage when the individual is in an existing postpartum period. If you encounter this issue, please submit a ticket to the KEES Help Desk and then complete the following workaround:
Run EDBC in the come-up month using the CE Reset Run Reason.
If the EDBC results in new PW coverage:
Cancel out of the EDBC Results and navigate to the Continuous Eligibility History page. Shorten the current CE Period for the PW to the month prior to the come-up month. (Unless the PW is the only Active MEM on the program block, it is essential staff do not accept the EDBC results when using CE Reset. Doing so would adjust everyone’s CE Period and that would be inappropriate.)
After the CE Period has been shortened, re-run EDBC for the come-up month (do not use CE Reset this time) and confirm correct outcomes. Accept EDBC results.
If the EDBC results show that the PW will no longer be eligible for benefits, Cancel out of the EDBC, leaving current benefits in place. A manual notice will need to be sent.
