Medical Review Forms
Data Collection
The following enhancements are being delivered to KEES with the January release:
Medical Rights & Responsibilities
Changes were made to update the Rights & Responsibilities section for NOAs and forms to notify consumers that they have a right to request an expedited fair hearing. Also, a new page has been added to NOAs and specific forms to inform consumers that interpreter services are available in 15 different languages.
Come-Up Month with Timely Notice Change
Changes have been made to match the come-up month with the timely notice change date. This allows for changes to be made in the come-up month when timely notice change occurs. This was done to fix issues with the MMIS Monthly and eliminate the “gap” period that was preventing workers from making changes outside of the come-up month. Now workers will be able to make changes in the come-up month sooner. This will prevent certain types of case actions from being placed on hold until the come-up month would become available.
EDBC Validation for Reviews
A hard stop validation message will now be displayed to ensure that the RE Run Reason is used when a review is being worked. The validation message will display anytime EDBC is being run on an Active program and the program’s Review Due is in the past. This validation is needed to ensure the RE Run Reason is used and that the review records are updated correctly to prevent reviews from being skipped and causing other negative downstream impacts related to review processing. Further guidance will be given on specific past review due scenarios.

Come Up Month Availability
The come-up month availability in KEES has been updated to match the timely notice change date. This means staff will no longer have to put work on hold to process a change in KEES because the month of eligibility impacted is not yet available to be selected in KEES. It is important to note that with this change DCF Reviews will be mailed out on average 3-5 days earlier beginning with March reviews mailed in February. The due date is 10 calendar days from the date the review is generated.
