Staff need to use the Not Eligible-Other Reasons negative action reason whenever a household member wins substantial lottery or gambling winnings as defined in KEESM. Staff should delete the NOA and use the V808 with the text below.
We are closing your Food Assistance case effective {MM/DD/YYYY} because you have substantial lottery or gambling winnings which is $3,500 or greater (before taxes or other amounts are withheld). Based on receipt of the winnings your entire household is ineligible for Food Assistance.
You may re apply at any time for Food Assistance benefits.
This action is based on Kansas Economic and Employment Services Manual.
