We have seen an increase of KMMS file errors related to mismatched DOBs. If a consumer’s DOB is different in KEES from what is in KMMS, or is incorrect, it will error off and cause issues with the consumer’s benefits. Staff should be mindful when updating a DOB, and only do so if the DOB is incorrect. Staff should not be changing DOBs for consumers who are 19 years old and on the parent’s case in an attempt to approve coverage. Staff should only be using approved WAs in the KEES UM.
We have been made aware of the issue of RMTs not showing an end date when a new RMT is added, this is a display issue only.
WA665 Cuban/Haitian Entrants has been created and added to the KEES UM.
This WA should be used when workers encounter a Cuban/Haitian Entrant non-citizen with the following document types, AND the 5-year bar has not been met:
Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal (I-589)
Application for a Stay of Deportation or Removal (I-246)
Notice to Appear (I-862)
Order of Supervision (I-220)
Vietnam Exit Visa (Passport)
U.S. Passport – This is specific to LPR – Amerasian’s.
KDHE Processing Deadlines for FY 2024 has been updated and can be found on the KEES Repository under Other Helpful Information.
Even though work requirements for ABAWDS have been temporarily waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Time Limit records should still be entered in KEES according to the guidance listed in the table below. Batches in KEES have been temporarily shut off to allow ABAWDS to receive more than 3 months of Food Assistance in a 36-month period. Making sure Time Limit records have been entered correctly will help ensure data collection for ABAWDS is accurate when there is an end to the Public Health Emergency period and ABAWD months must be tracked and counted again. The current ABAWD period is 10/2022-09/2025. Make sure Time Limit records are added to the current ABAWD period. For guidance on how to add an ABAWD period and Time Limit record in KEES, see the KEES User Manual.
