Dates on SOBRA NOAs are showing incorrectly due to the Effective Date of Treatment and End Date of Treatment not being filled out on the Other Program Assistance Detail (OPA) page.
In this example the SOBRA Emergency dates default to 12/01/9998 through 12/01/9998. This is not a defect but is due to the process not being followed.
While the Effective Date of Treatment and End Date of Treatment are not marked as required fields in KEES, if staff do not fill them out, the dates will not populate correctly. The following pages in the KEES UM direct staff to fill out these dates when authorizing SOBRA: SOBRA Spenddown, SOBRA – Family Medical, SOBRA Emergency.
If you are approving SOBRA coverage, please make sure you refer to the UM pages and fill out all fields that are needed.

The KanCare Proactive Communication Schedule is available on the KEES Repository under KDHE Communications. The calendar was updated on 03/17/2025 to include the new schedule to account for KanCare reviews being sent out on an earlier schedule. Calendar is available from 09/2024 through 08/2025.
