Transitional Medical/Extended Medical Update

It has been confirmed with KDHE Policy and Training that workers should follow the guidelines found in KFMAM 2230.01, 2230.02, 2240.01, and 2240.02 when determining if KEES is giving the correct determination for Transitional Medical (TMD) and Extended Medical (EXT) after all Financial and Non-Financial data collection has been reviewed for accuracy.

If EDBC does not show the correct results please refer to WA 522 for already identified scenarios where KEES is not following this policy. If it is determined that KEES is not functioning according to policy and it is not part of WA 522, please submit an Incident ticket to the KEES Help Desk. Please do not attempt to perform a workaround that is not part of WA 522 unless instructed by the KEES Help Desk. The KEES Help Desk will be resolving tickets and determining if any additional scenarios are needed for WA 522 based on the KFMAM references.

New policy items that are not in KFMAM above also include the new hierarchy update to allow TMD or EXT to be approved before CHIP.

Policy has also provided guidance on the PLN/PW vs TMD issue. PLN/PW should be given before TMD if eligible. This scenario will be removed from WA 522 as soon as possible. Until then, please do not use WA 522 for this scenario.

In addition, we are aware that Customer Options as directed to be used in WA 522, is not working at this time. We are working through a new workaround; in the meantime, if staff should come across a case that fits one of those scenarios where Customer Options was needed, please submit an Incident ticket to the KEES Help Desk. Please do not attempt to perform a workaround that is not part of WA 522 unless instructed by the KEES Help Desk.

Training materials are currently being updated to match policy and will be communicated to staff as soon as this effort is completed.
