A new snippet has been added to the E&D Specific tab informing consumers to contact the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs Office (KCVAO) for completion of new ES-3122 VA Potential Benefits Request. A link has also been included for workers to locate the phone number of the KCVAO office closest to the consumer. This Standard Text for Copy and Paste will be updated on the KEES Repository shortly.

KEES Medical User Manual Updates- Address information:

Several instances have been reported where staff have incorrectly updated an address for an individual marked Permanently Out of the Home. Please see the below information found in the KEES Medical User Manual related to Addresses.

The following updates have been made to the KEES Medical User Manual:

Address Detail and Contact Summary pages- Updates have been made to clarify when it is appropriate to update an existing address for an individual as well as what dates should be used if the address is to be changed.

Address Reminder:

The Contact Summary page is used to add or update an address for all current household members.

NOTE:

This page uses continuous dating, meaning there can be no gaps or overlaps between the records. If needing to make a change to information on this page, users must add a new record. When the new record is saved, effective dating occurs in order to maintain historical data.
The Begin Date for existing KEES consumers should be the day the address is changed in KEES; this is the case even when Prior Med is requested.
Addresses should never be updated for individuals whose Household Status is Permanently Out of the Home.

LTC Data Details:

PA’s are being listed as Dependents on their own LTC Data record. This is incorrect - workers will need to end date this record with the End Date being the last day of the month before the come-up month. (Ex: Come-Up month is 8/2019, therefore 07/31/2019 would be the End Date)
