The instructions and validation messages consumers see when answering questions regarding two step authentication during the account set up process have been modified to be more user friendly. These changes were made based on feedback from consumers utilizing the process.
Final KDHE Processing Deadlines - Fiscal Year 2022 has been updated and can be found on the KEES Repository under Other Helpful Information.
Updates to KEES have been made to align with new policies around expunged benefits. October KEESM changes will reflect that benefits will now be expunged (removed) from a consumer’s Kansas Benefits Card at 274 days or 9 months of inactivity instead of 365 days or 12 months. It is a new requirement to mail a notice to inform the household that benefits have been unused and if they continue to go unused, they will be expunged on a certain date. This is new Federal policy. Changes to KEES include:
Adding the F848: FA Benefit Expungement form to KEES. This new form is sent from KEES by batch and notifies the household 30 days prior to an expungement from their Kansas Benefits Card.
Sending benefits to EBT to be expunged upon program closure for one person households that are discontinued due to a deceased date in KEES.
Functionality to create overpayments through the External Recovery Account process for the P-EBT Program has been added to KEES. External Recovery Accounts will be created by DCF Admin for cases already sent to the KEES Help Desk for tracking. For detailed steps on setting up an External Recovery Account for P-EBT see the Creating an External Recovery Account steps in the KEES User Manual. Policy information regarding P-EBT and overpayments will be sent out in the upcoming October Changes policy memo.
A new run reason has been added to support Supplemental P-EBT. Staff will begin seeing this on Monday but should not use it until they have been instructed to do so. More information will be shared in October about issuing Supplemental P-EBT for the summer months of June, July, and August 2021.
DCF Processing Deadlines – Year 2021 have been updated and can be found on the DCF Intranet under Policy and Procedures and in the KEES Non-Medical User Manual.
