Reminder: This Negative Action Reason should not be used by staff outside of the KEES Help Desk.
The KEES Help Desk has seen an increase in Medical staff using the Application Opened in Error Negative Action Reason on applications that have prior medical months attached to it. An application with prior medical attached to it cannot be deleted. The prior medical months will remain attached to that application and a data fix will be required to fix it.
These general guidelines should be followed:
Review is received and registered as an application in error (no prior medical months added). Submit a KEES Help Desk ticket and we will delete the application registered in error and properly rescind the previous application so that it may be worked as a review.
Review is received and registered as an application (with prior medical months added). Do the prior medical months “fill the gap” so that there is no break in coverage?
If no, submit a KEES Help Desk ticket and we will have a data fix run on the case to delete the application and then we will properly rescind the previous application so that it may be worked as a review.
If yes, work it as it is. No ticket needs to be submitted to the KEES Help Desk. Since a data fix is required to delete an application that has prior medical months attached to it, Policy has approved these to be worked as they are rather than holding up processing waiting for a data fix.
Please contact the KEES Help Desk if any additional clarification is needed.
