CSRA Not Counting Resources (WA507)

Currently KEES rules are not correctly applying the Resource test for individuals who have had a CSRA determined. An incorrect approval may result for individuals requesting LTC coverage even though their countable resources remain above the resource limit but are below their established CSRA amount. When this occurs, the following workaround should be completed to prevent incorrect benefits from being authorized.

NOTE: Step 1 assumes the worker has completed all the necessary Data Collection pages, run EDBC, is on the Medical EDBC Summary page and has determined that the resources are not being counted correctly.

  1. Cancel out of the EDBC.

  2. From the Case Summary page, click the Customer Options left side navigation link from under the Non-Financial hyperlinks.

  3. From the Customer Options List page, click the Add button.

  4. From the Customer Option Detail page, select the name of the consumer from the Name dropdown.

  5. Select Medically Needy from the Type dropdown.

  6. Enter the 1st day of the Benefit month being processed in the Begin Date field.

  7. Enter the last day of the Benefit month being processed in the End Date field.

  8. Click the Save and Return button.

  9. Run EDBC for the Benefit month.

  10. Delete the system generated NOA and create a manual NOA, using the KDHE Standard Text for Copy and Paste to notify the consumer of the outcome of the determination.

  11. Journal that this workaround was used to complete the determination.
