The Contact Summary page is used to add or update an address for all current household members.
NOTE: This page uses Continuous Dating, meaning there can be no gaps or overlaps between the records. If needing to make a change to information on this page, users must Add a new record. When the new record is saved, effective dating occurs in order to maintain historical data.
NOTE: The Begin Date for existing KEES consumers should be the day the address is changed in KEES; this is the case even when Prior Med is requested.
If known, always enter a mailing and physical address listed for every person in the household.
Addresses for individuals who are Permanently Out of the Household (home) should never be updated.
A user should not run EDBC if the only update is an address change.
Do not edit historical addresses. Same day editing is allowable; all other situations should utilize the Add function.
If a consumer’s address is updated an Auto-Journal is generated for any case the consumer is known to as a Primary Applicant or a current Authorized Representative.
EDBC should be run to process the denial or closure when the address change alters Kansas residency.
Clicking View while the Display From and To fields are blank displays the complete address history.
Certain special characters cause errors when EDBC is run and should not be included in the consumer’s address: @ \ $ % ^ + = ] [ } { |
The following characters are acceptable: - / # &
The easiest way to insure a long address is updated in the MMIS and Premium Billing systems is to break the address up and put part of it in “Line 1” and the other part on “Line 2” on the Address Detail page. Example:
ADDRESS LINE 1: 3500 SW Mississippi Ave.
ADDRESS LINE 2: Apt. 225
CITY: Anywhere
STATE: KS
