Counting MediKan Months

No MediKan Benefits Prior to KEES

MediKan Reintegration months received prior to KEES Go Live count towards the 12-month MediKan time limit. MediKan Reintegration months received after KEES Go Live are not included in the MediKan fixed 12-month time limit for coverage.

An 11-month report is generated to notify workers when an Active consumer has received 11 months of MediKan benefits. This report only looks at active MediKan cases. If the consumer is not receiving MediKan benefits at the time the report is generated, the person is not on the report. For this reason, it is important to make sure the End Date is added to the MediKan Other Program Assistance (OPA) record when a case is discontinued.

Research the MediKan issuance history on the Person View page to determine how many MediKan months have been used by a consumer.

The Other Program Assistance page displays MediKan history, but it does not show issuances. The best place to find MediKan issuance is on the Person View page.
