Customer Options

Refugee Medical

The Customer Options Detail page is used to indicate that a consumer does not want eligibility determined for a particular program. Rules use this record to exclude any indicated programs when EDBC is run. This page is also used to deny or discontinue a medical program when the consumer fails to meet their spenddown amount or is unlikely to meet their spenddown amount.  See Deny or Discontinue a Program When Spenddown is Not Met for more information.

NOTE: It is not necessary to use the Customer Options page when approving a Medically Needy spenddown instead of Expanded LMB (or vice versa). When the RMT is Medical, EDBC Rules  provide the consumer with the Medically Needy Spenddown aid code. In this situation the Medicare Savings Plan displays as a Failed Budget since the consumer cannot have Expanded LMB and a spenddown simultaneously.  In order to approve Expanded LMB (instead of a Medically Needy spenddown), the user should select an RMT of MSP, this allows EDBC Rules to approve the Expanded LMB aid code.

NOTE: This page is used to remove Refugee from the hierarchy when a consumer qualifies for other medical eligibility.
