ABAWD Time Limits (Previously shared in the 01/19/2018 Dispatch)
The ABAWD Time Limit Reached batch can discontinue Food Assistance programs in error when the consumer is meeting or is exempt from meeting ABAWD criteria. To prevent this from happening, ABAWD months need to be added in KEES.
If an ABAWD continues to be Exempt or Meeting Work Requirements continue to enter an ABAWD Time Limit Record for each month until the next IR or Review.
KEES only allows end-users to add 5 months of Time Limit records past the current calendar month on the ABAWD Time Limit Month List page.
At IR or Review create a Future Case Task to Add an ABAWD Time Limit Record for the 6th month that falls within the IR or Review due month using the following criteria:
Due Date: 1st day of the 5th month
Receive Date: Date of Task Creation
Region: Select Regional Office Location
Location: Select Office Location
Queue: Alert
Task: Purple Future Processing
Task Details: Add a time limit record if ABAWD is exempt or meeting work requirements
ABAWD SCENARIO
Sarah applies on January 12th and is meeting ABAWD work requirements. Her IR is due in June and her Review Due month is December.
At application, an ABAWD Time Limit record is added for each month beginning with her first full month of benefits through her IR month to show she is meeting work/training requirements. This means a record is added for February, March, April, May, and June.
At IR, her ABAWD criteria is reevaluated. Since she is still meeting work requirements, an ABAWD Time Limit record is added for the next 5 months and a future task is created to add a record for the 6th month since KEES only allows us to add records up to 5 months in the future. This means a record is added for July, August, September, October, and November. A future task is created for the Alerts queue with a due date in November to add a record for December.
Her ABAWD criteria is reevaluated at her December Review for January benefits.

Remember:
Without a Time Limit record Batch will Discontinue the case if the ABAWD had previously received their 3 ABAWD months.
If there is not an ABAWD record entered KEES will determine the ABAWD is not Exempt or Meeting Work Requirements and add months (not meeting work requirements) to the ABAWDS 3 months of eligibility. KEES automatically discontinues ABAWDS that have received 3 months of FA benefits.
