Append NOA when a person’s role reason is Ineligible Alien (Unable or unwilling to provide INS documentation)

New standard copy and paste text is needed when a person’s USCIS Document is ‘Undocumented’ on the Non-Citizenship Status Detail page. The NOA snippet that produces implies the person failed to provide when actually they either are unable or unwilling to provide. These NOA snippets are driven based on a person being given a role reason of Ineligible Alien (Unable or unwilling to provide INS documentation), this will require the NOA to be appended and standard copy and paste text to be added.

Staff will need to append the NOA when a person’s role reason is Ineligible Alien (Unable or unwilling to provide INS documentation).

TANF Denial Reason

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) requires states to report denial reasons for the TANF program accurately. With KEES, we are seeing an increase in denial reasons that fall within the ‘Other’ category. For example, Not Eligible – Other Reasons or Not Initially Eligible. This can occur when a TANF application is obviously ineligible and not all the eligibility steps are completed in KEES--resulting in a Negative Action of Not Eligible – Other Reasons or an inaccurate Status Reason from rules because not all data collection has been entered prior to running EDBC. We’ve received feedback that the KWK indicator in KEES is one data collection piece that prevents staff from being able to use Rules to deny a case because the KWK isn’t always completed when a denial is obvious, but KEES requires the field when running EDBC. As a workaround, staff should indicate the client as Exempt from completing the KWK with an Exempt Reason of Valid Offer of Employment.
