KEES does not count the income type of Charity/Contribution - Needs Based correctly.
In order for KEES to count this income correctly, use an Income Category of Miscellaneous with an Income Type of Countable - All Programs.
If the income is going to be a monthly payment, the worker should subtract $100 from the monthly payment for all income that is in excess of $300.
Example - Consumer receives $450 monthly in Charity or Contribution payments. The worker would subtract $100 from the monthly payment (So that $300 would be exempt per quarter) and the amount entered into KEES would be $350.
If the income is a one month lump sum payment in excess of $300, then the worker should subtract $300 from the total payment.
Example - Consumer receives a lump sum of $450 in a month. The worker would subtract $300 from the total amount and enter $150 in KEES.
Staff must also indicate Miscellaneous was used for Charity/Contribution - Needs Based in the Journal.
