Claiming a Task

To Claim a Task for Human Service Assistants (HSA):

  1. After completing Searching for a Task, check the box associated to the task to be claimed, then click the Claim button.

  2. Navigate to the KEES home page and verify the task displays in the Task Portlet.

NOTE:  Any additional tasks associated to the same case and in the same Queue as the task claimed are automatically claimed and assigned to the user.  These additional tasks also display in the Task Portlet.

  1. Click the Task hyperlink in the Task Portlet.  The Task Details window opens.

  2. Review the task information, including any images, then close the Task Details window.  Now that the task(s) has been claimed and reviewed, proceed with the workflow needed for the task(s).

NOTE:  Utilize the Images button on the task(s) to see if there are any images associated to the task(s) or utilize the Images button from the Case Summary page to see a complete list of images associated to the case.

To Claim a Task for All Other Staff:

  1. After completing Searching for a Task, click the Task hyperlink from the Task Inventory search results.  The Task Details window opens.

  2. Review the task information, including any images, then close the Task Details window.

NOTE:  Utilize the Images button on the task(s) to see if there are any images associated to the task(s) or utilize the Images button from the Case Summary page to see a complete list of images associated to the case.

  1. Navigate to the KEES home page and verify the task displays in the Task Portlet.

NOTE:  Any additional tasks associated to the same case and in the same Queue as the task claimed are automatically claimed and assigned to the user.  These additional tasks also display in the Task Portlet.

  1. If the task(s) are associated to a case, check if any additional task(s) need to be claimed:

    1. Click the Case Number hyperlink in the Task Porlet.  The Case Summary page displays.

    2. Select Tasks from Utility Navigation.  The Task Management window opens displaying all tasks associated to the case and all tasks assigned to the user.

    3. If additional task(s) display associated to the case but not assigned to the user and in an appropriate Queue, click the Task hyperlink.  The Task Details window opens.

    4. Review the Task Details and click the Claim button if appropriate.

  2. Now that the task(s) has been claimed and reviewed, proceed with the workflow needed for the task(s).
