The Medical Condition Detail page is used for determining if a consumer is Mandatory or Exempt for Work Programs/FAE&T and for certain Food Assistance and TANF eligibility rules. A Batch Interface could create or update an Active Medical Condition at the time of registration or if a consumer is determined disabled by SSA.
The Medical Condition record displays at the person level. Person level records display on all cases on which the consumer is a case person.
Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Medical Condition from Task Navigation. The Medical Condition List page displays.
Select the appropriate status in the Medical Condition Category drop-down menu. Fields dynamically display on the Medical Condition Detail page based on the Medical Condition Category selected.
The Medical Condition Categories are:
Active: An Active Medical Condition is used to capture a medical condition that has been verified by DDS, SSA, VA, Railroad, or Doctor Statement.
Declared: This value is only set by KDHE medical staff. DCF should not select or edit this value.
Presumptive: This value is only set by KDHE medical staff. DCF should never select or edit this value.
Click the Add button. The Medical Condition Detail page displays.
Select the consumers Name from the drop-down menu.
Review the Medical Condition Category for accuracy.
Select a Verified Status from the drop-down menu.
Select a Medical Condition Type from the drop-down menu. Medical Condition Types vary based on the Medical Condition Category selected.
If the Category is Active, select:
DDS, SSI, SSA, or 1619B as appropriate for the determination. These households are treated as a disabled household including increased shelter cost allowances and medical expense allowances.
Other Food Assistance Disability as appropriate per policy. These households are treated as a disabled household including increased shelter cost allowances and medical expense allowances. Examples include VA Disability and RR Disability.
Incapacity – Verifiable and at Least 30 Days means the consumer is exempt from ABAWD or other Mandatory Work Requirements, but he or she does not meet the disability criteria for Food Assistance (i.e. increased shelter and medical expense allowances) for example: a doctor’s statement.
Enter the Begin Date of Disability, if known, or first day of the month eligibility is being determined using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
Click the Save and Add Another button to add additional records. Otherwise, click the Save and Return button.
Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Medical Condition from Task Navigation. The Medical Condition List page displays.
Click the Edit button for the record needing edited. The Medical Condition Detail page displays.
Review the Medical Condition Category for accuracy.
Select a Verified Status from the drop-down menu.
Enter the End Date of Disability, of the last day of the month the disability should be used in the eligibility determination using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
Click the Save and Return button.
NOTE: If end dating a Medical Condition record, be sure to also end date any corresponding income records, prior to running EDBC.
