Child Care Need Child - FCCC

The Child Care Need Child page captures any special needs of a child receiving child care and is used to indicate when a child is participating in Early Head Start.

Adding a Child Care Need for a Child(ren) in order to Request an Enhanced Rate of Care - FCCC

A Child Care Need Child record should only be added after the 1627a:  Request for Enhanced Rate for Special Care form has been returned completed and the FCCC Manager and/or Supervisor has given approval.

NOTE: The exception to this rule is when processing a Review for a Child Care program in which Enhanced Rate was previously approved, see Request for Enhanced Rate at Child Care Review for detailed information.

  1. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Click the + beside Child Care from Task Navigation to open the Child Care data collection pages.  Select Child Care Need Child from Task Navigation.  The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.

  2. Click the Add button.  The Child Care Need Detail – Child page displays.

  3. Select the child’s name from the Name drop-down menu.

  4. Select Enhanced Rate from the Need drop-down menu.

  5. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.  The begin date is the day the enhanced rate was requested by the consumer.

  6. The End Date pre-populates to match the review date.  If needed, adjust the End Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

  7. Click the Save and Return button. The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.

Adding a Child Care Need for Mental/Physical Needs (Age 13+) - FCCC

Follow these instructions when adding a child care need for a child(ren) in instances when the child turns 13 within the review period, or the child is between the ages of 13 and 19 years of age, but is still eligible to receive benefits due to physical/mental incapability or is under court supervision.

  1. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Click the + beside Child Care from Task Navigation to open the Child Care data collection pages.  Select Child Care Need Child from Task Navigation.  The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.

  2. Click the Add button.  The Child Care Need Detail – Child page displays.

  3. Select the child’s name from the Name drop-down menu.

  4. Select Mental/Physical Needs (Age 13+) from the Need drop-down menu.

  5. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.  The begin date is the day of the application or the first day of the month following the child’s 13th birthday if an ongoing case.

  6. Select the appropriate value from the Verified drop-down menu.

  7. The End Date pre-populates to match the program review date or the child’s 19th birthday, update if necessary.

  8. Clik the Save and Return button. The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.

Adding a Child Care Need for Early Head Start Partnership - FCCC

A Child Care Need for the Child of EHS Partnership should be added for each child applied for who is participating in the Early Head Start (EHS) Partnership.  An EHS indicator will display as Y in the EDBC Summary based on the Child Care Need record.

  1. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Click the + beside Child Care from Task Navigation to open the Child Care data collection pages.  Select Child Care Need Child from Task Navigation.  The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.

  2. Click the Add button.  The Child Care Need Detail – Child page displays.

  3. Select the child’s name from the Name drop-down menu.

  4. Select EHS Partnership from the Need drop-down menu.

  5. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.  The begin date is the day of the application.

  6. The Verified drop-down menu defaults to Not Applicable.

  7. The End Date pre-populates to match the program review date, update if needed.

  8. Click the Save and Return button. The Child Care Needs List – Child page displays.
