PMD Tier 1 with Income Over the SSI Limit Receive an SSI Aid Code

Currently KEES gives an SSI aid code when the consumer has a PMD Tier 1 Medical condition type and the household’s monthly income after allowable deductions is over the SSI limit. Users will need to complete the following steps. This business process is only for Long Term Care (LTC) programs.

NOTE: This business process is to be used when a LTC consumer is deemed eligible for SSI even though their household income exceeds the SSI limit.

After running EDBC if a consumer is passing for SSI when their income exceeds the SSI limit, cancel out of EDBC (Do Not accept) and take the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Customer Options page.

2. Click the Add button.

3. Select consumers name from the Name drop down.

4. From the Type dropdown select SSI Recipients.

5. Set Begin Date to the first day of the month of eligibility.

6. Click the Save and Return button.

7. Run EDBC for the months needed.

8. Review the EDBC results, ensure the correct aid codes are present.

9. Select Save and Continue.

10. In the Journal indicate that this business process was used.
