The Aid Codes for the Protected Medical Groups (PMG) are found in the Medical Aid Code table. When a consumer has a PMG Aid Code or is potentially eligible for a PMG, follow the instructions to correctly determine benefits.
Create an Income Detail for each SSA Claim number.
Accurately record the Social Security Claim Number for each Social Security benefit on the Income Detail page.
NOTE: For Social Security Income only, staff are required to enter the Claim Number (CAN) found in EATSS. The Claim Number entry must be 10 characters, 9 digits and one letter; NO spaces or dashes. It is important because EDBC uses the Claim Number to help determine eligibility for Protected Medical Groups (PMG). If the consumer is drawing benefits from more than one Social Security Claim Number, all corresponding Social Security Income needs to be added to the Income List page as separate records.
Complete the Protected Medical Groups questions on the Social Security Income Detail page.
The PMG questions must be answered in order for KEES to correctly determine PMG. However, not ALL the questions should be answered. Answers should only be selected for the type of PMG needed. For example, only answer the PICKLE questions for a potential PICKLE, if the consumer is suspected to be eligible as an Adult Disabled Child, only answer those questions.
