Relationship

All people on a program need to be assigned a relationship to the other program members, excluding those with a high-dated Household Status of either Permanently Out of the Home or Added in Error. Relationships are reciprocal and only need to be entered once.

Example: Micah is the son of Bryan—the system knows that Bryan is Micah’s father.

NOTE: This page uses Continuous Dating, meaning there can be no gaps or overlaps between the records. If needing to make a change to information on this page, users must Add a new record. When the new record is saved, effective dating occurs in order to maintain historical data.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Relationship from Task Navigation. The Relationship List page displays.

  2. Click the Add button. The Relationship Detail page displays.

  3. Select a consumer from the First Individual drop-down menu.

NOTE: To save time, select the person in the home that has the most ties to other people on the program as the first individual.

Example: Household of Mother and 3 children. Mother has ties to all the children on the case.

  1. Select the appropriate Relationship Status from the Relationship drop-down menu.

  2. Select consumer(s) from the Second Individual multi-select menu.

NOTE: Second Individual field has multi-select capabilities. This means the user is able to select all 3 children from the example above, because the children all have the same relationship to Mother.

  1. If the First Individual has Care and Control, select the check box.

NOTE: Has Care and Control should be selected when a Non-Relative is applying on behalf of a child under 18 years old.

  1. Select Medical from the Care and Control Programs drop-down menu.

  2. Select one of the following from the Care and Control Status drop-down menu:

    1. Blank Value (at top of drop-down menu)

    2. ES 3108

    3. Legal Authority Provided by Court Document

  1. Select the Use Person DOB as Begin Date check box if the person’s DOB is the begin date of the relationship; or enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon if the begin date is not the person’s DOB.

  2. Select a verification status from the Medical Verified drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Save and Add Another button to add additional records. Otherwise, click the Save and Return button.
