NOTE: The best practice is to always add a Residency record for all Household members.
To add or update Kansas residency for a case person(s):
Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Residency from Task Navigation. The Residency List page displays.
Click the Add button. The Residency Detail page displays.
Select the consumer from the Name drop-down menu.
Select a Residency Status from the Residency Status drop-down menu.
NOTE: When a consumer is out-of-state due to a PRTF or a head injury, the worker needs to select Placed in an Out of State Institution for LTC by KS State agency from the Residency Status drop-down menu.
NOTE: When a child in foster care moves out-of-state, the child is not Title IV-Eligible so Kansas can't ask the resident state to issue a medical card. Kansas is still responsible for the medical care of that consumer. Select Placed in an Out of State institution for LTC by KS State agency from the Residency Status drop-down menu.
Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
The begin date is either the day the consumer reports the change or the first day of the month of application. For prior Medical, use the first day of the first prior Medical month.
Select a Verification Status from the Medical Verified drop-down menu.
If the user has another entry, click the Save and Add Another button. Otherwise, click the Save and Return button.
Clicking the Save and Return button when changing residency status returns an Effective Dating Confirmation List page. This page shows KEES is end dating the existing record and starting a new record. Verify the dates are correct then click the Save button.
