If the baby was born in a Prior Medical month, complete the below steps. If the baby was born in the month of application, skip to step 2:
On the Case Summary page, select the Month of Application using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon date for the Display field and click the View Button. The Case Summary page redisplays.
Click on the View Details button in the Medical Program Block. The Medical Detail page displays.
Click the Edit button. The Medical Detail page redisplays.
In the Program Persons section, click the Edit button by the SOBRA PW. The Medical Person Detail page displays.
Enter the Prior Med month(s) in the Retro Months field.
Choose MAGI from the Requested Medical Type drop-down menu.
Click the Add button.
Click the Save and Return button. The Medical Detail page redisplays.
Repeat steps 4-6 for any other family members requesting Prior Medical coverage.
After Prior Medical has been added for all members requesting coverage, click the Save and Return button on the Medical Detail page. The Case Summary page displays.
Enter the relevant Non-Financial Data.
NOTE: Applications for SOBRA PW must have a Medical pregnancy record entered on the Pregnancy Detail page.
On the OPA page:
Select the Name of the SOBRA PW from the drop-down menu.
Select the Type of Assistance from the drop-down menu.
SOBRA Labor and Delivery
Select KS from the State drop-down menu.
Select the County from the drop-down menu.
Enter the baby's date of birth in Effective Date of Treatment text box.
Re-enter the baby's date of birth in the End Date of Treatment text box.
Enter the 1st day of the baby's birth month in the Begin Date text box.
Enter the last day of the baby's birth month in the End Date text box.
Select Verified from the Medical Verified drop-down menu.
Click the Save and Return button. The Other Program Assistance List page displays with the newly entered information.
Complete the remaining Non-Financial and Financial Data Collection pages.
Run EDBC starting with the first pending Benefit Month. The EDBC List page displays.
NOTE: In months other than the baby's birth month, the PW SOBRA applicant will be denied.
Click on the hyperlink in the Program column. The Medicaid EDBC Summary page displays.
Review the EDBC results. In the baby's birth month, the following should display for the SOBRA PW:
Role: MEM
Status: Active
Test: MAGI Title 19
Result: Pass
Aid Code: PLN/PW/Y/N, CTM/PW/Y/N, or CTM/PA/Y/N
NOTE: The baby should display the following:
Role: MEM
Status: Active
Test: MAGI Title 19
Result: Pass
Aid Code: PLN/NB/N/N or CTM/CH/N/N
Click the Accept button. The EDBC List page displays.
Click the Save and Continue button. The Distributed Documents Search page displays.
In the Local Navigation bar, click on Case Summary to display the page.
In the Medical Programs section of the page, click on the View Details button. The Medicaid Detail page displays.
Click the Edit button.
Change the Review Due Month to match the month of the baby's CE.
Click the Save and Return button. The Case Summary page displays.
In Task Navigation, click Run EDBC.
Select the next chronological month from the Benefit Month drop-down menu. The EDBC List page displays.
Select RE from the Run Reason drop-down menu.
Click the Run EDBC button. The EDBC List page displays.
Click on the hyperlink in the Program column. The Medicaid EDBC Summary page displays.
Review the EDBC results. EDBC should show the following for the SOBRA PW:
Role: FRI
Status: Discontinued
Status Reason: Ineligible Non-Citizen
NOTE: The baby should display the following:
Role: MEM
Status: Active
Test: MAGI Title 19
Result: Pass
Aid Code: PLN/DN/N/N or CTM/CH/N/N
Click the Accept button. The EDBC List page displays.
Click the Save and Continue button. The Distributed Documents Search page displays.
Continue to Run EDBC until it is high-dated.
