Verify SSN through the Federal Hub when Citizenship and ID is Verified or Exempt

In situations where a consumer has an unverified SSN in SSN Provided status on the Individual Demographics page, but has Citizenship and ID in Verified or Exempt from Verification status on the Citizenship/Identity page, the following process will need to be used to verify the SSN through the Federal Hub.

NOTE: This also applies when from a policy perspective we cannot verify the Cit/ID of non-applicants, but we need to verify the SSN for IBU purposes.

  1. Leave the SSN in SSN Provided Status on the Individual Demographics page.

  2. Navigate to the Living Arrangement page.

  3. Click Add to add a new Living Arrangement. The Living Arrangement Detail screen will appear.

  4. Under Name: Select the name of the consumer with the unverified SSN.

  5. Under Living Arrangement Type: Select In Home.

  6. Under Arrival Date: Select the first day of the application month or the first day of the first PM month.

  7. Under Verified: Select Pending.

  8. Click Save and Return.

  9. Navigate to the Verifications page.

  10. On the Verification List page, check the box next to the pending Living Arrangement record for the individual. Click the Request Verification button.

  11. The Real Time Interface History Detail page will appear. Click Close.

  12. Navigate back to Individual Demographics. Under SSN Status, if the SSN was able to be verified, the SSN should appear as HUB-SSA.

  13. Navigate back to Living Arrangement record for the individual. Check the box of individual and click the Remove button.

NOTE: If the SSN does not appear as HUB-SSA, further research may be needed.
