Medical Programs

Medical Issues We Fixed:

Contact Log

The issue where incorrect Contact Reasons displayed in the Grievance/Complaints Category of the Contact Log has now been resolved. The Contact Log will now display only the correct Contact Reasons of CHIP Premiums, Civil Rights Complaints, Clearinghouse Materials, Customer Self Service Portal, Customer Service, Eligibility Determination, External, Hold Time, Legislative Contact, Other, Timeliness, WH Premiums for Grievances/Complaints.

Data Acceptance

The issue that prevented workers from correctly adding tax dependents as claimed by the Primary Applicant through data acceptance has now been fixed. Workers should now be able to add tax dependents to the tax record in KEES when linking an e-App to the case.

Forms and NOAs

The issue where a person with a household status of Added in Error was incorrectly displaying in Section B of the KC1200 has now been fixed. Persons with a household status of Added in Error will no longer appear on this section of the KC1200.

The following enhancements are being delivered to KEES with the January Release:

Medical Rules

Medical rules have been updated to ensure the system correctly determines coverage under the SSI test category for individuals who are determined presumptively disabled (PMDT Tier I) and meet the SSI income limit.

NOA fragment updates were also made to ensure that the correct NOA fragments related to Presumptive Medical Disability determinations display correctly.

The Reviews Batch logic was updated to ensure the Reviews Batch assigns an annual Pre-populated review to individuals receiving eligibility under Presumptive Medical Disability.

Workaround WA221 - PMDT Tier I with income under the SSI limit received medically needy aid code is being retired.

Interfaces

Updates were made to the KDOL UI interface logic to fix the issue where a duplicate unemployment record is being inserted into KEES when the verification is called multiple times either by Batch or Online through the Request Verification button.

This system enhancement also removes the TALX Tier III functionality from KEES (Online and Batch). As part of this change, the Source of Tier III- TALX will still be visible in the Source drop-down on the Income Amount Detail page, but will now be selectable by a user.

Workaround WA501 – Tier III TALX is being retired.

Non-Medical Programs

The following enhancement is being delivered to KEES with the January Release:

Homeless Shelter Expense

The Homeless Shelter Expense has been added to KEES. To indicate the Homeless Shelter Expense in KEES, select a Category of Homeless Shelter Expense from the Expense List page and a Type of Homeless Shelter Expense from the Expense Detail page. Staff should enter $152 in the Amount field on the Expense Detail page so KEES can calculate the Homeless Shelter Expense when running EDBC.

Enter all expenses in KEES if the client has Shelter Expenses in addition to Homeless Shelter Expenses. KEES will determine if the total Shelter Costs is greater than the Homeless Shelter Expense when running EDBC.

Staff can view what deductions were used by clicking on the Excess Shelter Costs hyperlink from the Food Assistance EDBC Summary page. If the Homeless Shelter Expense was allowed, the description for the Homeless Shelter Expense Type will read Meets Homeless Criteria and list the deduction Amount. If the Homeless Shelter Expense was not allowed, the description for the Homeless Shelter Expense Type will read Does Not Meet Homeless Criteria and the Amount will be 0.
