During last night’s run of the Medical Discontinuance Batch, an incorrect journal entry of Eligibility for MAGI-based Medicaid/CHIP benefits has been automatically recertified for one year via the Passive Recertification process was inserted in error. This is a defect that is being addressed. NOAs on the case are correct in their wording for being Discontinued. Workers do not have to submit tickets for this issue.
Reminder – When a review is received, the Reporting Record needs to be updated to Received and if the Review is signed, that question should be set to Yes. This question should only be set to No, when the review form has not be signed. If this question is set to No, then the Reviews Discontinuance Batch will Discontinue the program when it runs.

Reminder – e-Reviews need to be linked to the case even if you do not need to rescind or reapply for anyone (due to them already being Active). The e-Review must be linked to the case in order for the Status to update once the e-Review is processed. This is very important for reporting purposes.
Workers have reported getting to the last step in e-Linking process, and then the system gives them an 8600 error. This is leaving the Program Block with no Worker ID/Casebank ID, and leaving the eApp Status in Received. If workers utilize the Worker Assignment link and auto assign, this will then assign the needed Worker ID/Casebank ID, AND will also flip the eApp status to In Progress.

Do not create a Family Plan until you are ready to run EDBC. The Begin and End dates are automatically populated on the Family Plan when a new family plan is added.
Pending Applications: The Begin date populates with the date of application
Ongoing Cases: The Begin date populates to the day after the previous plan ended
Pending Applications OR Reviews: The End date populates to allow for full 12 months of eligibility, beginning the month after the case is authorized. Because of this, Family Plans should not be created until the case is ready to be processed.
If a Family Plan is created and then the case is pended for verification, two things can happen:
If the information is received and processed in the next calendar month, the Family Plan End date is incorrect. If it is not noticed and fixed by the worker who runs EDBC, the case will be authorized with an incorrect review period. If it is noticed by the worker, they have to redo most of the work by removing and re-adding all the Child Care Plans
If the information is not received and the Application is denied, any child with pending Child Care Plans will be viewed in KEES as attending that provider and will cause inaccurate Child Care Provider reports
Even though work requirements for ABAWDS have been temporarily waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Time Limit records should still be entered in KEES according to the guidance listed in the table below. Batches in KEES have been temporarily shut off to allow ABAWDS to receive more than 3 months of Food Assistance in a 36-month period. Making sure Time Limit records have been entered correctly will help ensure data collection for ABAWDS is accurate when there is an end to the Public Health Emergency period and ABAWD months must be tracked and counted again. The current ABAWD period is 10/2022-09/2025. Make sure Time Limit records are added to the current ABAWD period. For guidance on how to add an ABAWD period and Time Limit record in KEES, see the KEES User Manual.
