Individuals with a Future CHIP State Date not updating to an Active Member Status in the Current Month

We have been made aware of an issue at EDBC involving blended households (Medicaid and CHIP), a CHIP individual receives Future CHIP Start Date,  and does not correctly update from an Active Fri to an Active MEM status when running EDBC in the current month. Staff need to be diligent in reviewing EDBC results to ensure the correct results are displayed in EDBC. If the person status is incorrect, staff should not override the EDBC results but instead submit a KEES Help Desk ticket.

CHIP Premium Increase

An issue has been discovered regarding CHIP premiums increasing in the middle of a CE period. Based on research completed, this does not seem to be happening on every case. To further assist with finding the cause of this issue and getting it corrected, if staff notice this, please do not override the EDBC results. Please report this to the KEES Help Desk.

WA660 Postpartum CE Extension

A new Workaround has been created for Policy Memo 2022-07-01 regarding Postpartum extension. Until KEES is updated to align with the new policy, staff will need to utilize WA660 when authorizing Pregnant Woman coverage in a postpartum month and the Pregnant Woman is no longer categorically eligible.

Continuing Met Spenddown Coverage for Pregnant Women (PW) within 12-Month Postpartum (PP) Period

Per Policy Memo 2022-01-01, pregnant women open on a met spenddown at the time of their pregnancy are eligible to continue on met spenddown coverage through 12 months postpartum (PP). Instructions have been added to the KEES User Manual titled Continuing Met Spenddown Coverage for Pregnant Women (PW) within 12-Month Postpartum (PP) Period to assist staff with this process.

Retiring WA61 Spenddown for Pregnant Women and Children

WA61 has now been retired and placed in the KEES User Manual as a business process. Staff will need to utilize this when authorizing Medically Needy Spenddowns for Pregnant Women or children. These instructions can be found in the User Manual under Spenddown for Pregnant Women and Children.
