It is important for Medical Staff to remember that Medicare Expense records are shared between Medical and Non-Medical cases. When processing applications Medical Staff should not set up the Buy-In record if the case is going to be pended for verifications. These Medicare Expense records show as State Pay, which results in the Non-Medical case using that money as available income. This will lower the amount of Food Assistance a consumer may be eligible to receive.
For this reason Medical staff should no longer be adding the Buy-In record until the final determination is made for the medical case.
KDHE Processing Deadlines - Fiscal Year 2020 can be found on the KEES Repository under Other Helpful Information.
After clicking on the Save and Continue button on the Child Placement Detail page, the Effective Dating Confirmation page will display with accurate Provider Placement information and Begin/End dates. Staff will no longer have to manually end date the existing placement record and then add a new record.
Staff can now use the new Need Type of Retention Services when setting up a Service Arrangement for the Work Retention Payment Program. Employment Service Staff no longer need to use a Need Category of Job Search/Job Retention and a Need Type of Job Retention Coaching when issuing a Work Retention payment to a consumer.
