Non-Medical Programs

Closing Child Care Cases for CSS Non-cooperation

Although DCF Admin is working these cases from a report, EES staff may find these situations prior to Admin closing the case. If staff are working on a Child Care case and see a CSS penalty that has not been applied, staff should act on the change.

• Close the Child Care case using the Negative Action reason of CSS Non-Cooperation

• Delete the system generated NOA

• Send a V808 with the following text:

• • This is the [Penalty number] Child Support Services penalty for [Name] and it requires your cash and/or Child Care assistance case be closed for a minimum of [Penalty] month(s). This penalty period begins [First Discontinuance month (mm/dd/yyyy)] and ends on [Last penalty month].  In order to be eligible for cash and/or Child Care assistance at the end of the penalty period, you will need to reapply and [Name] must fully cooperate with CSS requirements.  If you have questions about this child support penalty, please call 1-888-757-2445.

  • Failure to meet CSS requirements again will cause your cash and/or Child Care case to close for a longer period of time.

  • Full cooperation is needed before you can get benefits again.
