A build is scheduled for this weekend. Below is a summary of what is included in the release as well as any workarounds that will no longer be necessary.
404 Error Received After System Time-Out
The issue that was causing KEES to throw a 404 Error should now be fixed. Staff should submit a ticket to the KEES Help Desk if they encounter this error. Please include what you were doing when the error was encountered.
Medical Rules:
KEES has been updated to extend the Pregnant Woman postpartum period from 2 months to 12 months to align with the recent policy changes.
The 12-month postpartum period has been updated for all MAGI and CHIP pregnant women who are not receiving SOBRA.
When an active Pregnant Woman turns 19 during their CE period, they will now remain open on their original program for the full 12 months for the extended postpartum period.
The CE period end date for pregnant women will be set to the end of the postpartum period giving the consumer the full 12-month postpartum extension, regardless of their age.
CHIP Pregnant Women will continue receiving CHIP benefits through their 12-month postpartum period even when there is a premium delinquency. This will occur even if there are CHIP siblings who are closed for a premium delinquency.
Data Fixes:
A data fix will be implemented to adjust a Pregnant Woman’s CE End Date to be the later of either:
Current CE End Date
End of the new postpartum period
If the CE End Date is updated via data fix, the Adjustment Reason will be New Policy/Regulation Change.
A data fix will be implemented to update Pregnant Women who have a 12-month postpartum period CE End Date that does not match the RE Due date.
Reporting:
Once the data fixes have been implemented, reports will be provided for the following:
A report will be received of all customers with adjusted RE Due Dates due to the postpartum extension.
A report will be received of all Pregnant Women that were closed or had a gap in coverage after their postpartum since 5/1/2021.
NOA Updates:
The verbiage on the Approval snippet below has been updated. Updates are marked in bold.
We have approved your application for KanCare Pregnant Woman medical assistance for <Variable>, as of <Variable> through twelve months postpartum.
The verbiage on the following Discontinuance snippet has been updated. Updates are marked in bold.
This action was taken because coverage for pregnant women ends twelve months after the month of birth or the end of the pregnancy.
The following snippet has been updated to now appear for CHIP non-SOBRA pregnant women:
Your reported due date was MM/DD/YYYY. Has your baby been born? If yes, please contact us immediately to report your baby's birth.
With this release, staff should no longer use WA660: Postpartum CE Extension to extend the postpartum period to 12 months for pregnant women still within their 12-month postpartum period.
NOTE: This does not apply to pregnant women who are outside of their 12-month postpartum period who need to continue on coverage due to the PHE. For women outside of their postpartum period who need to continue due to the PHE, workers will need to continue to use the existing May 2022 Release EDBC Override for PHE instructions.
