Premium Billing Discontinuance Batch

The Premium Billing Discontinuance Batch ran on 10/06/23 for the first time in several years. As a reminder for staff, this batch runs monthly and discontinues CHIP members who have a Delinquency Indicator set to ‘Y’ and establishes a premium penalty period. If EDBC is unable to process the discontinuance, an EDBC Error task and a CHIP Medical Program Delinquent Premium task will be generated so that staff can manually discontinue the impacted person(s). As this is the first time the batch has been run since premiums started back up, staff should expect to see a high volume of these tasks generated. If the consumer should pay their past due premium before their penalty period starts, then a Reinstate CHIP Coverage-Premium Paid task will be generated so that staff may reinstate their coverage.
