Emergency Water Assistance Program (EWAP)

EWAP is a federally funded assistance program from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and The American Rescue Plan of 2021. This program is designed to help low income households with drinking water and wastewater bills. Kansas has chosen to concentrate its efforts toward assisting households who are currently disconnected or in danger of being disconnected from drinking water and/or wastewater services.  

 

Functionality to support EWAP has been added to KEES, and is known as Water Assistance in KEES. Functionality added to KEES includes:

The application process for EWAP is paper only. Functionality has not been added to the DCF Self-Service Portal (SSP). A specialized team of DCF Employment Services Career Navigators has been identified and trained to work this new program.
