Access the case through Person Search or enter the Case Number in the quick search field from Task Navigation and click Go. The Case Summary page displays.
Click Eligibility from Global Navigation. The Case Summary page displays.
Click Customer Information from Local Navigation.
The situation determines which data collection pages to update:
If Consumer is deceased, go to STEP 5 to record the date of death then Run EDBC.
If the Foster Care or Adoption Assistance program ends, go to STEP 15 to end date the program then Run EDBC.
NOTE: If the child is returning to the parental home, refer to the steps found on Foster Care to Parental Home.
If Consumer is incarcerated (detention/jail), go to STEP 24 to change the Living Arrangement then run EDBC.
Click the Individual Demographics link from Task Navigation. The Individual Demographics List page displays.
Click the Edit button. The Individual Demographics Detail page displays.
Enter Decease Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon. The Verified field displays.
Select Verified from the Verified drop-down menu.
NOTE: Deceased Date is only to be manually entered for case maintenance by a user or populated by an Interface when an individual should be discontinued due to death. After a Deceased Date has been entered and verified, running EDBC the come-up month discontinues assistance for the individual. See Incorrect Deceased Date if the wrong Deceased Date was entered or Deceased Date Entered on Wrong Person if a Deceased Date was applied to the wrong person in KEES.
Click the Save and Return button. The Individual Demographics List page displays.
Click Run EDBC from Task Navigation. The Run EDBC page displays.
Select the appropriate month/year from the Benefit Month drop-down menu.
Click the check box for the Medical program.
Click the Run EDBC button. The EDBC List page displays with Run Status of ‘Not Accepted’ and Auth Amount of ‘Fail’.
Click the Medical hyperlink. The Medical EDBC Summary page displays. Go to STEP 36.
Click the Other Prog. Assist. link from Task Navigation. The Other Program Assistance List page displays.
Click the Edit button. The Other Program Assistance Detail page displays.
Enter the last date of Foster Care program services in the End Date field using <mm/dd/yyyy> format or use the calendar icon.
Click the Save and Return button. The Other Program Assistance List page displays with the End Date.
If youth is 18 or over, the user must also take Negative Action on the case:
Click Negative Action from Task Navigation. The Negative Action Detail page displays.
Select the <mm/yyyy> that the negative action is taken from the Benefit Month drop-down menu.
Select the check box for the Consumer’s Name.
Select the appropriate value from the Negative Action Reason drop-down menu.
Select the appropriate value from the Timely Notice Exception drop-down menu.
If “yes” is selected, the Reason field displays. Select 'Voluntary Withdrawal' from the Reason drop-down menu.
Click Run EDBC from Task Navigation. The Run EDBC page displays.
Select the appropriate month/year from the Benefit Month drop-down menu.
Click the check box for the Medical program.
Click the Run EDBC button. The EDBC List page displays with Run Status of ‘Not Accepted’ and Auth Amount of ‘Fail’.
Click the Medical hyperlink. The Medical EDBC Summary page displays with Role Reason of “No Linkage to MA” and Status Reason of “Doesn’t Meet Program Req”. Go to STEP 36.
Click the Living Arrgmt link from Task Navigation. The Living Arrangements List page displays.
Click the Add button. The Living Arrangements Detail page displays.
Select the Consumer’s name from the Name drop-down menu.
Select Incarcerated from the Living Arrangement Type drop-down menu.
Enter date the consumer was incarcerated in the Arrival Date field using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
Select Verified from the Verified drop-down menu.
Click the Save and Return button. The Living Arrangements List page displays.
Click Run EDBC on the Task Navigation menu. The Run EDBC page displays.
Select the appropriate month/year from the Benefit Month drop-down menu.
Click the check box for the Medical program.
Click the Run EDBC button. The EDBC List page displays with Run Status of ‘Not Accepted’ and Auth Amount of ‘Fail’.
Click the Medical hyperlink. The Medical EDBC Summary page displays with Role Reason of “Institutionalized” and Status Reason of “Institutionalized”.
Click the Accept button. The EDBC List page displays with Run Status of ‘Accepted – Not Saved’.
Click the Save and Continue button. The Distributed Documents Search page displays.
Click the document hyperlink for the Notice of Action (NOA) just created. See NOAs (Notices of Action) for more information.
Select Journal from Utility Navigation. Record a Journal entry of the actions taken on the case. See Journal for more information about journaling functionality.
