KEES Availability this Weekend
Saturday 7/21: 8am – 8pm
Sunday 7/22: 12pm - 6pm (July Release)
A build is scheduled for this weekend. Below is a summary of what is included in the release as well as any workarounds that will no longer be necessary.
Data Collection
The issue that was allowing workers to save a Physical Address for a person without selecting a County (which is mandatory) has been resolved.
Clicking the Close button on the Resource Detail page will now navigate staff back to the search results page.
Person View Page
When staff complete a Person Search and then click on the consumer’s name to navigate to the Person View page, they are viewing the demographic and Duplicate ID information that is stored in the Master Person Index (MPI) for that person.
When staff click on a consumer’s name in the All People Associated with the Case section of the Case Summary page, they are also navigated to the Person View page. However, the demographic and Duplicate ID information on this page is not stored in the MPI; it is stored in KEES. This is why the information between the two pages looks different and why more information is typically available on the “MPI” Person View page.
To help clarify this discrepancy, the “MPI” Person View page is being renamed to MPI Person View. Only the name of the page has been changed, not what displays on it.
KEES July Release Notes
EDBC
The issue related to Manual PE EDBCs not being saved is resolved.
The issue related to RMTs not updating or being recognized correctly in the EDBC determination has now been resolved.
On the EDBC Results page > EDBC Person Line Item Detail > Health Insurance for Person in LTC/B&C page, the Close button has been fixed.
Long Term Care
When an LTC consumer passed away, the maximum liability was being used for all months rather than each month being looked at individually. When the Date of Death was entered, the MMIS Patient Liability page updated with incorrect amounts. This issue has now been resolved.
RCD
In addition, the enhancements listed below are being delivered to KEES with the July Release:
CSRA Updates
Changes will correct the issue related to the CSRA amount being recalculated when there is a gap in EDBC months and the issue related to the incorrect CSRA maximum and minimum amounts being used in the calculation. This will eliminate the need for staff to use the current Policy workaround that was communicated.
Medical Reviews Batch
Changes to the Reviews Batch will allow:
KDOL-UI Interface to create, update and end date existing Unemployment Income records.
Data from the TALX Interface in some instances will be used by rules to complete the Income budgeting and make updates to existing Income records.
SSA Income records from the SVES and BENDEX Interfaces will be compared against KEES Income records. A dollar match will be done, if the Income amounts match then the program will be allowed to pass through the Medical Reviews Batch. If the dollar amounts do not match then the program will be flagged for a Pre-Populated Review.
PMDT Referrals
Changes have automated the PMDT referral process, which will be completed through KEES. This will eliminate the need for staff to use the off-system process and communications currently in place to complete the PMDT referrals.
Real Time Interface Response Page
Changes will enhance the responses that are displayed on the Real Time Interface Detail page to be more “plain” language.
Reapply Warnings
Additional validation warnings have been added to the system. These warnings will appear on the New/Reapplication Detail page and are intended to assist staff in determining the correct action to take when registering Applications and Reviews.
When staff attempt to Reapply for a Program Person who has been recently Discontinued, they will receive a warning. The warning will ask staff if they are sure they do not want to Rescind rather than Reapply for the person. This is to help reduce the number of Reviews that are being registered as Applications.
Staff will also receive a validation warning when they attempt to register an additional Application within the same month and year as an existing Application. If staff are unable to Rescind the previous Application, a ticket should be submitted to the KEES Help Desk.
Third Party Liability Info to MMIS
This change allows KEES to electronically send Third Party Liability (TPL) Start and End Dates to MMIS. This will eliminate the need for staff to use the off-system process currently in place to send these types of TPL changes to MMIS.

Medical Processing Deadlines
Processing Deadlines – Fiscal Year 2019 can be found on the KEES Repository under Other Helpful Information.
EDBC is Not Showing Consumer as ABAWD when a Child is Temporarily Out of the Home due to Foster Case has been removed.
The P202: CC Provider Eligibility Notice did not populate with the child(ren) name(s) and begin and end dates. Staff no longer need to use Standard Copy and Paste text.
The V013: Expenses Exceed Income form was populating with the incorrect income amount. Staff no longer need to use Standard Copy and Paste text.
Child Care
Code Error received in the Child Care Application Financial Eligibility Test for the Unearned Income when running EDBC.
Child Care denied in error when a Non-Compliance record has an Overridden End Date that is prior to the system generated End Date.
Data Collection
Clicking the Close button from the Aged Off and Expungement Detail page, or Top Search Detail page, will now navigate staff back to the search results page.
DCF Self-Service Portal (SSP)
Consumers were able to select a Medical Case Number when reporting changes through the DCF SSP.
The Office Location functionality under the Information Links section on the DCF SSP Homepage did not allow consumers to perform a proximity search to locate the nearest DCF Office Location.
Employment Services
There was no Close button on the FAET Status Detail page to exit the page.
Food Assistance
The Program Configuration block on the Food Assistance EDBC Summary page did not indicate Adult(s) as an ABAWD when a child was Temporarily Out of the Home due to Foster Care. Since this has been fixed, staff no longer have to code the child as Permanently Out of the Home in order for the EDBC Summary to indicate the Adult(s) as ABAWD.
Food Assistance denied in error for State Residence when address is in the State of Kansas and the Begin Date is the last day of the month.
Reapply Warnings
An additional validation warning has been added to the system. This warning will appear on the New/Reapplication Detail page and is intended to assist staff in determining the correct action to take when registering Applications and Reviews.
Staff will receive a validation warning when they attempt to register an additional Application within the same month and year as an existing Application. If registering a new Application is the correct action to take, staff will be allowed to proceed; however, if staff need to Rescind the previous Application and are unable to, a ticket should be submitted to the KEES Help Desk.
Reports
The Issuance Data View Report was populating with the incorrect county.
The Pending Applications Without Current Task report was pulling in e-applications that were in a Posted status, meaning they were not In Progress or Pending.
In addition, the enhancements listed below are being delivered to KEES with the July Release.
Ability to Associate a Session Description to a Customer Activity
Resource Databank (RDB) Maintainers for Employment Services can now associate a ‘Session Description’ to activities in the RDB. This field is similar to the ‘Service’ description indicated in the Career Navigator Access Database. When Career Navigators select an Activity from the Customer Activity Detail page, the associated Session will also be indicated in static text.
Provider Imaging
Supports the ability to image and store documents within ImageNow related to Child Care Providers. Workflow was designed to support imaging on the front end or back end of the process.
Tracking of Child Support Service (CSS) Referrals
Allows staff to see CSS referral history on the CSS Referrals List page, which is accessible from the Non-Custodial Parent Detail page.
