LIEAP programs are supported by online Eligibility Determination and Benefit Calculation (EDBC). EDBC uses rules aligned with policy to determine eligibility. A case can be approved, denied or discontinued by running EDBC. A user can also make a decision to deny or discontinue a program without using EDBC rules. This is known as Negative Action. See Deny or Discontinue a Program Using Negative Action for more information.
NOTE: All Active LIEAP programs are discontinued via the LIEAP Auto Discontinuance batch after the LIEAP season ends (at the end of the regular season or after supplemental issuance if one was issued). A user should only take action to discontinue a LIEAP program to prevent a supplemental benefit from being issued. For example, the only household member is deceased or the consumer no longer resides in Kansas.
