End Dating Existing Income - Family Medical

Additional action is necessary when end-dating income records for individuals who exist across multiple cases. Because of inheritance rules, taking action on a single income type will not allow an accurate determination. When this occurs, the entity acting on the change will end date all income records impacting the determination (usually only Family Medical and E&D, but MIPPA if necessary). After running EDBC for programs within their responsibility, create a contact log for the partner entity. The partner entity is responsible for reacting to the change for programs within their area of responsibility. See Cross-Agency Communication Guide for specific Contact Log details.

Complete the following

  1. In the context of the case, select Eligibility from the Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from the Local Navigation. Open the financial data pages by clicking on the + beside Financial from Task navigation. Select Income from Task Navigation.

  2. On the Income List page, click the Edit button beside the income the consumer no longer receives.

  3. The Income Detail page displays. In the Income Amounts section, click the Edit button.

  4. On the Income Amount Detail page enter the End Date. The End Date should be the last day of the month the income should be counted for eligibility. If using actuals in the determination the End Date is the last date an income/benefit was received.

  5. Click the Save and Return button.

  6. The Income Detail page displays. Review it for accuracy, then click the Save and Return button.

NOTE: See Adding Income for steps on how to add a new income record.

Interface Income

Batch Interfaces are initiated by specific criteria or triggers and can create or end-date SSA or SSI income records.  Interfaces that alter the income pages are BENDEX, SDX, and SVES.

First, the interface identifies whether or not a record exists in KEES.  If no record exists, the interface creates a new record with the Social Security income amount.

If a record already exists, the interface compares the amount listed in KEES to the amount known to the interface.   If there is a discrepancy between the amount recorded in KEES and the interface amount, the Social Security income record is end-dated and a new record is created with the interface income amount.

Tasks are created for staff to verify the amounts are correct prior to using the amounts in an eligibility determination.  Staff can verify the Social Security income amounts by using the EATSS system available in KAESCES.  Follow the verification process prescribed by KDHE Policy.
