Fair Hearings Process - Non-Medical

Business Process Steps

A consumer can file a request for a fair hearing with their local DCF office or through the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). If the request is first filed with DCF, the local office must notify OAH.

Agency Representative

NOTE: OAH reviews the request. If the request can be dismissed, they notify the agency and appellant

NOTE: The process ends here if the appeal is dismissed or withdrawn.

Mail Receiver/Imager

NOTE: This step could be completed by the Agency Representative. Follow the local office’s business process for imaging Fair Hearing documentation.

Identified Changes

Appeal requests, details, summaries, and results are all recorded in KEES.
