Usable Case Number – LIEAP

A usable Case Number for a LIEAP applications must contain:

NOTE: An Appropriate Case Head is any adult in the household that has signed the LIEAP Application. Best practice is to use an adult in the household whose name is on the heating fuel bill as Case Head.  

NOTE: The Case Head is the person whose name displays in the banner at the top of the page when the user is in the context of a case. A Case Head is the ‘owner’ of the case.  A Case Head can never be changed.

To determine if a Case Number is usable for LIEAP:

  1. Is the Adult Applicant whose name is on the heating fuel bill a Case Head on an existing LIEAP case?
  1. Are any adult applicants in the home a Case Head on an existing LIEAP case?
  1. Register a new LIEAP case using the adult whose name is on the heating fuel bill as the Case Head. See New Case Registration – LIEAP for instruction on registering a new case.
