Modify Existing Income – LIEAP

Modify existing income when the income source is the same and there is a change in the benefit amount.

  1. Access the case through Person Search or enter the Case Number in the quick search field from Task Navigation and click the Go button. The Case Summary page displays.
  2. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Click the + beside Financial from Task Navigation to open the financial data collection pages. Select Income from Task Navigation. The Income List page displays.
  3. Click the Edit button beside the LIEAP income to be modified. The Income Detail page displays.

NOTE: Only use the Edit button when modifying income from the same source and the Program Type is LIEAP.

Modifying Income from Earnings

  1. In the Income Amounts section, LIEAP defaults in the Display by Program Type drop-down menu. Click the Add button.  The Income Amount Detail page displays.

NOTE:  Using the Edit button will change the existing income and not keep a historical record.  The Add button must be used to keep accurate income history.

NOTE: If the Hours are not whole enter the decimal value do not use standard rounding logic.

  1. Click the Add button in the Average Calculator to add additional paystub information.
  2. When all payment/check amounts have been entered, click the Calculate button.
  3. Click the Use button. The calculated income amount populates in the Reported Amount field.
  4. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
  5.  Select a Verified value from the drop-down menu.
  1. Select the Source for the verification from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click the Save and Return button. The Effective Dating Confirmation List page displays.
  1. If all date information is correct, click the Save button. The Income Detail page displays.
  1. Click the Save and Return button. The Income List page displays.

 

Modifying Monthly Income

  1. In the Income Amounts section, LIEAP defaults in the Display by Program Type drop-down menu. Click the Add button. The Income Amount Detail page displays.

NOTE:  Using the Edit button will change the existing income and not keep a historical record.  The Add button must be used to keep accurate income history.

  1. Enter the new monthly income amount in the Reported Amount field.
  2. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.
  1. Select a Verified value from the drop-down menu.
  1. Select the Source of the verification from the drop-down menu.
  1. Click the Save and Return button. The Effective Dating Confirmation List page displays.
  1. If all date information is correct, click the Save button. The Income Detail page displays.
  1. Click the Save and Return button. The Income List page displays.

 

Modifying Income from Child/Spousal Support - Non-Medical

1.    In the Income Amounts section, LIEAP defaults in the Display by Program Type drop-down menu. Click the Add button. The Income Amount Detail page displays.

2.    In the Average Calculator, enter the Date Received using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

3.    Enter the Amount of child/spousal support received.

4.    For the Count in Average column, if any amounts are not representative and should not be included in the calculation select No from the drop-down menu. Otherwise, leave the value defaulted to Yes.

5.    To record multiple support amounts, click the Add button to create an additional support value in the Average Calculator.

6.    Select 3 from the Divisor drop-down menu to indicate that the average is based on the 3 months of payments entered.

NOTE: When budgeting intermittent child support, select a Divisor that is equivalent to the time period the months are for. For Example: Child support received semi-annually, select a Divisor of 6; child support received annually, select a Divisor of 12.

NOTE: If the support is for more than one person select the Number of Children from the drop-down menu. If the income is spousal support or is for only one child the user does not need to select a value.

7.    When all payment/check amounts have been entered, click the Calculate button.

8.    Click the Use button. The calculated income amount populates in the Reported Amount field.

9.    Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

10. Select a Verified value from the drop-down menu.

11. Select the Source for the verification from the drop-down menu.

12. Click the Save and Return button. The Effective Dating Confirmation List page displays.

13. If all date information is correct, click the Save button. The Income Detail page displays.

14. Click the Save and Return button. The Income List page displays.

 

Modifying Income from Self-Employment - Non-Medical

1.    In the Income Amounts section, LIEAP defaults in the Display by Program Type drop-down menu. Click the Add button. The Income Amount Detail page displays.

NOTE:  Using the Edit button will change the existing income and not keep a historical record.  The Add button must be used to keep accurate income history.

2.    On the Average Calculator, select the appropriate Self-Employment Schedule/Ledger being used for the reported income from the drop-down menu.

3.    Enter the income information from the schedule/ledger in the Total Gross Income field. Click the Add button to enter additional income.

4.    Select the appropriate Self-Employment Schedule/Ledger being used for the reported expenses from the drop-down menu.

5.    Enter the expense information from the schedule/ledger in the Total Expenses field. Click Add to enter additional expenses.

NOTE: Do not put any values in the Income Addition or Expense Exclusion fields.

6.    When the necessary information has been entered from the schedule/ledger, select the Divisor (12 for annual return, 4 for quarterly return, etc.).

7.    Click the Calculate button.

8.    Click the Use button. The calculated income amount populates in the Reported Amount field.

9.    Enter the Begin Date of the first day of the first month the new income should be used in the budget, using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

10. Select a Verified value from the drop-down menu.

11. Select the Source for the verification from the drop-down menu.

12. Click the Save and Return button. The Effective Dating Confirmation List page displays.

NOTE:  The Effective Dating Confirmation List page shows any previous record's Begin and End Date, as well as the Begin Date for the new income information.  Review the information for accuracy. 

13. If all date information is correct, click the Save button. The Income Detail page displays.

14. Click the Save and Return button. The Income List page displays.
