Shared Living

Shared Living occurs when there are other people living in the TANF home that are not in the Mandatory Filing Unit (MFU) and they are not requesting assistance. There is a different maximum benefit amount for TANF Shared Living households. KEES only requires the Primary Applicant to have the Shared Living indicator in order for the household to be recognized as a TANF Shared Living household.

To Indicate Shared Living on a TANF Program:

  1. Access the case through Person Search or enter the Case Number in the quick search field from Task Navigation and click Go.  The Case Summary page displays.

  2. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Household Status from Task Navigation. The Household Status List page displays.

  3. Click the Add button. The Household Status Detail page displays.

NOTE: It is important to use the Add button when adding or changing a Household Status to ensure accurate effective dating and to preserve historical records.

  4. Select the Primary Applicant from the Name drop-down menu.

  5. Select In the Home or Temporarily Out of the Home from the Living in the Home Status drop-down menu.
