Household Status - Non-Medical

The Household Status Detail page records whether a consumer is in or out of the home (temporarily or permanently) for budgeting purposes. When a consumer moves from the household a Household Status of Permanently Out of the Home should be added.

If no record exists, KEES assumes the consumer is in the home. Household Status does not follow a person from case to case.

NOTE: This page uses Continuous Dating, meaning there can be no gaps or overlaps between the records. If needing to make a change to information on this page, users must Add a new record. When the new record is saved, effective dating occurs in order to maintain historical data.

For steps on correcting a Household Status record that was added in error, see Troubleshooting Household Status – Non-Medical.

To Add or Edit a Household Status Record:

  1. Access the case through Person Search or enter the Case Number in the quick search field from Task Navigation and click Go.  The Case Summary page displays.

  2. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation. Select Customer Information from Local Navigation. Select Household Status from Task Navigation. The Household Status List page displays.

  3. Click the Add button. The Household Status Detail page displays.

  4. Select the consumer’s Name from the drop-down menu.

  5. Select the Living in the Home Status from the drop-down menu. For TANF shared living situations, see Shared Living.

NOTE: If Temporarily Out of the Home is selected, the user is required to select a Household Status Reason from the drop-down menu.

  1. Enter the Expected Return Date if applicable using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

  2. Enter the Begin Date using the <mm/dd/yyyy> format or the calendar icon.

NOTE: The Begin Date should be the first day of the month, unless adding someone back into the home in the come-up month, then use the date the record is being entered as Household Status records cannot be future dated.

  3. Click the Save and Add Another button to add additional records. Otherwise, click the Save and Return button. If there was an existing record for the consumer the Effective Dating Confirmation List page displays.  Verify the Begin and End Dates are correct, then click the Save button. The Household Status List page displays.

NOTE: For a short term hospital stay the user should select a Household Status of Temporarily Out of the Home with a Reason of Hospital. For a long term hospital stay the consumer should have a Household Status of Permanently Out of the Home and a Living Arrangement of Hospital – Acute Hospital Care should be added.
