Discontinue Medical - PPS

Users should use Run EDBC to Discontinue the Medical Programs block after updating the appropriate data collection pages and discontinuing the Foster Care or Adoption Assistance program block.

Discontinue Based on EDBC Rules

  1. Access the case through Person Search or enter the Case Number in the quick search field from Task Navigation and click Go. The Case Summary page displays.

  2. Select Eligibility from Global Navigation and Customer Information from Local Navigation.  The Contact Summary page displays.

  3. Determine the reason for the medical case to be discontinued:

    NOTE: If the Deceased Date was populated via an interface, verify the date is correct.

  4. Select Run EDBC from Task Navigation. The Run EDBC page displays.

  5. Select the required Benefit Month from the drop-down menu. Click the Select button.

  6. Select the check box for Medical.

  7. Click the Run EDBC button. The EDBC List page displays.

  8. Click the Medical hyperlink with a Run Status of Not Accepted. The Medical EDBC Summary page displays.

  9. Verify the Status shows as Discontinued and the Status Reason displays correctly.

  10. Click the Accept button. The EDBC List page displays with a Run Status of Accepted-Not Saved.

  11. Click the Save and Continue button. The Distributed Documents Search page displays.

  12. Click the document hyperlink. The Notice of Action (NOA) displays in a new window.

  13. Review the NOA and click the Save and Print Centrally button.

  14. Click the X in the upper right corner of the document to close the window.

  15. Select Case Summary from Local Navigation. The Case Summary page displays. Verify the program block has been Discontinued.

  16. Select Journal from Utility Navigation. Record a journal entry of the actions taken on the case. See Journal for more information on journaling functionality.
