Student Eligibility Criteria for Food Assistance

KEES captures student status on the School Attendance page in KEES.  The School Attendance page should be completed for each student in a Food Assistance household.  For more information on completing the School Attendance page see Non-Financial Data Collection School Attendance.

  1. Student is employed 80 hours/month or 20 hours/week.

  2. Student is Incapacitated or Disabled.

  3. Student participates in Federal or State Financed Work Study.

    NOTE: If the student is approved for federal work study but has not received a pay check, enter an Earnings Income Category with a Type of College Work Study with an amount of $0.00.

  4. Receives TANF benefits

  5. Responsible for child less than 6 years old.

    NOTE: If there are two parents in the home, the user can select the “Care and Control” indicator on the Relationship page for the parent to receive the student exemption for the child under 6.

  6. Responsible for a child older than 6 but less than 12 and does not have adequate child care.

  7. Full Time Student and a Single Parent of a child less than 12.

  8. Participating in an employment or training program for low income households.
