Viewing a Step 3 Response

Error Messages

 

This step occurs when the VLP Interface is not able to find a match in a prior Step or if the applicant is Cuban, Haitian, or a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) victim.  To initiate a Step 3 an image of the immigration document must be attached to the request.    A Step 3 verification request can take 10-20 days to provide a response.  

 

NOTE: The first step in the process below assumes the worker has:

 

  1. Click Verifications from Task Navigation. The Verification List page displays.

  1. Click the icon on the INS Document verification. A Document Search page displays.   

  2. Select the correct Document Type from the drop-down menu; the user may highlight to select multiple document types.  

NOTE: To search for documents received during a specific date range, use the From and To text boxes.  

  1. Click Search.

  2. The selected document displays in the Search Results Summary section of the page.  Use the ascending/descending carets to sort through the Document Type, Person Name, Created On Date, and Created on Time columns.  

NOTE: This page displays up to 20 results; remaining results will be on the next page(s).  

  1. Click on the Document Type hyperlink.  The document displays in a separate browser or pop-up window.  

  2. Review the document to ensure that it is correct and for the right consumer.  

  3. Close the browser or pop-up window by clicking on the X in the top right-hand corner.  

  4. Click on the radio button to the left of the Document Type.  

NOTE: The Is this document suspicious? question displays and defaults to No.    

  1. Click the Attach button.  The Verifications Detail page displays.  

NOTE: See Error Messages for information on problems that may occur and how to deal with them.

  1. Click the Cancel button to return to the Verifications List page.  

  2. Click the check box next to the INS Document to verify.

  3. Click the Request Verification button; the Real Time Interface History List page displays.

  4. Click Verifications from Task Navigation; the Verification List page re-displays.

  5. The INS Document verification displays in Pending Status and has theicon to the left of the record.  Hovering the mouse over the icon displays the message VLP Verification is in progress for this INS Document.  

 

NOTE: If the Source Status says Error Calling Hub the VLP request failed. If this happens:

 

Viewing a Step 3 Response

When a Step 3 Response Received task is received, the INS Document Verification Request page will be updated.  The INS Document verification no longer displays as Pending because the consumer's Non-Citizenship status has been verified.  

  1. Select Verified from the Status drop-down menu.

  2. Click the Search button. The Verification List page refreshes.

  3. Click the caret under Type to refresh the Verification List page.

  4. Click the INS Document hyperlink. The Verification Detail page displays.

  5. Click the View History button. The INS Document Verification Request List page displays.

  6. Click the DHS Case Number hyperlink. The INS Document Verification Request Detail page displays.

  7. Use the Response Data Received to update the Non-Citizenship Data Collection record.

 

Error Messages

Listed below are Error Messages that are received when trying to attach a document for VLP.  

If one of the above errors is received, try to attach the file again.  If you continue to receive errors, submit a ticket to the KEES Help Desk.
